Update on our garden from Abi

On Tuesday our little green fingered gardening team had great fun stomping on eggshells (and who wouldn't) to create a natural pest control for slugs, snails and other crawling pests for our seedlings we planted last week. Our gardening team sprinkled them around our seedlings with comments such as "this is cool", and "we need to look after our seedlings", are just a few. When crawling pests cross over an area in the garden where the crushed eggshells have been spread, the eggshells make several small cuts in the pests. The pests will then dehydrate and die due to these cuts.

Our gardening team and Room 18 would like to say a big "THANK YOU" to Ravie Reid, former Activities Manager at Bunnings for putting our request for Bunnings to share there knowledge and to help us with our gardens, and to the Lifestyle Team for taking on the challenge, especially Jan and Ngai who visit us  on a Tuesday morning :) Lea and Ava have made some cards for Ravie to say thank you and congratulations on the safe arrival of baby Isabella. Thank you Lea and Ava, love your art work girls :)

'Mike the plumber' also popped in to fix a new hose for us to use in our gardens, big thanks to you to Mike! A few of our gardening team were very keen to see what Mike was up to under our deck and to make sure the spiders had not 'eaten him' :)

Thanks Abi and the Gardening Team:)
