Week 3

Welcome to Week 3

Thanks to all those that turned up for the Working Bee on Saturday, still lots of painting to be done.

Here's what's happening this week with a couple of reminders...

Monday is the last day for Calendar Art orders. If you missed the deadline on Friday, you have one last day (Monday) to put your order in.

Student Led Conferences - Are on Tuesday for the middle and senior school only.
The junior school are having their conferences/celebrations on Thursday 30th November-mark that day in your calendar, we will be celebrating the progress your child has made since the beginning of the year.  It never cease to amaze me how much they learn in such a short time.  You should all be very proud of your children and what they have achieved.

We have....Swimming!!....Every day this week.  Awesome.
Remember to bring your togs, towel and a plastic bag for swimming each day.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD'S UNIFORM IS NAMED.
The critters are working on their independence when getting change, it would really help them out  if they could identify which clothing items were theirs.

Wednesday 8:45am - Rosary.  It's our turn this week. The junior school are leading the Rosary. Parents, family and friends are most welcome to come along and join with us. The Rosary is held in the school hall.

Thursday 10am in the school hall-All Saints/All Souls Liturgy -
All parents, family and friends are welcome to come along and join us.
We will be visiting the church in the afternoon to view the Emmanus Icon and say a prayer. Here is a link with more information - Emmanus Icon

No Assembly on Friday as the middle and senior school are at athletics all day.

Upcoming next week - Grandparents/Grandfriends Mass and concert is on Friday 10th November. Mass is at 9am, followed by refreshments, then a concert. All are welcome to join us for this day of celebration. Fingers crossed the weather will be fine.

Here are some cool shots from the working bee on Saturday.  I hope to see you all at the next one.
As you can see our playhouse looks AMAZING!!!
Thanks again.  See you all tomorrow.

Monday, Monday

Rosary & Athletics

Today in Religious Education (RE) we learned about the Rosary. The Rosary is prayers we say to Mary so that she may take our needs to Jesus. We know how to say the Our Father and are learning how to say Hail Mary. We then made our very own class Rosary.

Check out our cool Rosary

Mylene and Rico enjoyed the activity so much they decided to make their own to take home.

This afternoon we started our training for our athletics day later in the term. We were learning how to do a scissor jump for the high jump...Our Junior Athletics day will be on the 13th of December.  All parents are welcome to come along and watch.  We will be practising in the afternoons that we don't have swimming.

...and also how to do the long jump - one foot in the hoop and land on two feet (very tricky indeed). Boy we can fly!

After all that hard work it was time for a very quick play on the big kids playground.

See you tomorrow:)

An update on Buddy Bear

As you may or may not know, last week Buddy decided to take a visit to Egypt.

He said goodbye to everyone and caught the taxi to the airport.  He knew that we were going to be learning about Symbols this term and thought Egypt would be a good place to start because he had seen some pictures from Egypt that had loads of symbols in them (hieroglyphics).

We will be learning a little bit about Egypt so we know what he is talking about when he returns;)

As a class we had a quick talk about Symbols, to see if anyone knew what they were...

...and then we went for a walk around the school to see if we could find some symbols.  We found heaps!
We found this symbol for our school which is on our fleece too!
Good spotting.
Cohen from Room 1 came out to explain to us what the symbol of a red poppy and a cross mean.  Nice one Cohen.
We found Batman's symbol (yes Conner, we know that you really are Batman).
We found the symbol of the fish by the drains, ask your children if they know what the message is...
A symbol on a tree, the critters know what that means:)
When Buddy returns from his trip to Egypt, he will be visiting your place.  It would be great if you could find some symbols and share the messages behind them.
Hopefully Buddy will be back this week:)
